PUBLIC SPEAKING: THE FEAR FACTOR

No human activity activates more bone-chilling fear than speaking in public.

Our number one goal is to help you understand where the fears originate and conquer them. We help you achieve these goals by putting you in a comfortable training environment that gives you consistent, positive reinforcement throughout the training regimen.

Our intense comprehensive program involves working with executives one-on-one. Each session is recorded, so that he or she may have an audio or video tape, as applicable, to use as an aid in practicing.

We will begin with a 2-hour evaluation, and following our recommendations, set up a program that is best suited to your needs.

During each simulated speaking session, you will work at a lectern with microphone and PA system, and/or with Power Point, or other applicable audio visual aids. You will be recorded on DVD at each session, and will be given the DVD to use as an objective tool in your homework assignments.

We’ll do it all progressively. We will analyze and evaluate your strengths and weaknesses,
looking carefully at

Your facility with language - grammar, diction, vocabulary
How you use your voice to convey your message
How you carry yourself, gesture, and pose
How you utilize Power Point and other audio-visual support

Once we know the areas that need work, we will start with presentations that are compatible with your evaluated abilities. Then, lesson by lesson, we will increase the degree of difficulty incrementally, and make every effort to move you along as rapidly as possible, without sacrificing your comfort level.

In addition to one-on-one training by the hour, half day, or full day, we offer other programs for two to four participants.

If you work diligently on John Burr’s time-tested techniques, you will demonstrate a marked improvement in your ability to communicate
